Testosterone in Men

Low Testosterone in Men

You may not immediately notice symptoms of low testosterone, such as fatigue, weight gain, low libido, and depression since many other issues can cause them. Some people may think it is normal to feel tired or have similar symptoms simply because of age, work, and daily life responsibilities, but this doesn’t have to be the case. Testosterone levels naturally drop with age, and these symptoms may appear more gradually. This gradual appearance is one reason that low testosterone may sometimes go undiagnosed. TRT could be a solution if you are experiencing any of the symptoms below.

Fatigue

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of low testosterone and is often the first sign of a problem. Everyone has periods when they become fatigued because of working too hard or not sleeping well, but if you have unexplained fatigue even after getting plenty of sleep, you should get your testosterone levels checked.

Sexual Difficulties

Low testosterone can cause a significant decline in libido (sex drive) and it may be accompanied by erectile dysfunction. Low libido is not an inevitable part of aging and should be considered as a possible sign of low testosterone.

Weight Gain

Low testosterone may also lead to unexplained weight gain. Since testosterone is responsible for building muscles, weight gain is often accompanied by a loss of muscle mass and an increase in fat tissue.

Mental/Emotional Difficulties

Many men with low testosterone struggle to focus or might find that they are having difficulties with their memory. Anxiety, depression, or irritability can also be among the symptoms of low testosterone. Other symptoms include hair loss and anemia.
